We offer allergen-friendly menu options to help meet the needs of students with food allergies and sensitivities. These meals are carefully planned to avoid common allergens and support student safety and well-being.

If your child requires a more specific dietary accommodation that is not met by our current allergen-friendly menu options, a Medical Statement Request Form is required. This helps us ensure we can safely meet your child’s individual dietary needs.

All enrolled, returning and incoming, students will receive ONE FREE Breakfast and ONE FREE Lunch regardless of meal eligibility status. 

If your child attends one of the following school sites below, we encourage you to complete a meal application for the 2026–2027 school year:

• Bonita Vista High
• Eastlake Middle
• Eastlake High
• Rancho Del Rey Middle
• Otay Ranch High
• Olympian High School

You can pick up a paper application at your students school site main office, cafeteria, or the District Office (Nutrition Services Department).

You also have the option to complete it online from the comfort of your home. Your information is kept private and confidential, and submitting an application will not affect your child’s access to free meals.

If your child has a medical need that requires a special diet, we’re here to help. Simply submit a medical statement from a licensed healthcare provider, and we’ll work with you to make appropriate meal accommodations.

Are meals free for all students?

Some schools encourage families to complete a meal application for the 2025–2026 school year. This helps support school programs and ensures accurate district funding.

Applications are available at your school’s main office, school cafeteria, District Office (Nutrition Services Department), or online.

Where are ingredients sourced?
Our ingredients are sourced through approved vendors that meet strict USDA and state food safety and nutrition standards. The majority of our products are sourced in California, and most ingredients are grown or produced in the United States. What are school meals comprised of?
We offer five meal components each day: fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and dairy. Menus are planned to meet USDA nutrition standards and provide well-rounded meals that help keep students energized and ready to learn throughout the school day.

The Summer Meal Program kicks off June 8th and continues through June 26th. Meal site locations are open Monday through Friday.
